Ok, so…

So we really haven’t been up to all that much lately, Christmas has taken over and everything has been put on hold! But do not worry..

Today has been a particularly productive shopping day for the wedding season!
Tomorrow will be a particularly productive design day and then the finishing of a few dresses which are half done (a bit late but never mind!)
So if you fancy a completely one-off dress for new year, get into Happy Days on Thursday, Friday or Saturday… we are actually open!

Christmas at the Creeds, with the poor dog roped in to giving sleigh rides for kids, he loves the festive cheer!

There’s nothing better to inspire your creativity than other creative people - that’s why I love spending my time in the shop.
Found this amazing blanket a few weeks ago - definitely feeling a Chanel style skirt suit out of it!

Hello Etsy!

I finally posted some stuff to the brand new etsy shop - mainly to get these little numbers out there for Christmas!

Secretly hoping they don’t sell so I can have them on my door and fireplace.

OMG.

I’m completely in love with this.

This just sums up everything about vintage fashion that I love so much - incredible work and amazing detail.
I should have been born in the 30’s so I could have worn this in the 50’s. That would have been ideal.

Too much lining!

I’m on the 4th solid day of making 43 ballet dresses for the ballet school in Cowbridge and no matter what I do I just feel like I’m getting nowhere!

There’s still endless amounts of fabric to get through, its pretty much never ending… I’ve just had enough of lining - especially in pink
Lesson learnt - there is no way I can take on a challenge like this with 2 jobs and a business to take care of, at least I’ll know that for next time, until then I’m cracking on with the thought of making the most amazing dress I can dream of once I’ve finished, and I’ve got the perfect one in mind :)

Wedding Dress: "tick"

I finally finished the Audrey inspired up-cycled wedding dressNot quite as happy with it as I wanted to be but still, I made a wedding dress!

Trust me to choose the last day of sunshine for the rest of the year and for it to rain instead! But we did acquire an amazing dog for a prop! Next attempt soon I think, thicker fabric and twice as much tulle…

Winter inspiration

Just found this little number in my Vogue magazine, and it reminds me of a jacket I picked up not long ago. It’s my mission this week to finish up-cycling that!
I have an obsession with velvet recently, and rightly so. Christmas number 1 trend this season! (For me anyway)
Lots of velvet dresses and skirts in the shop, and now for the bespoke ones!

Hooked on you biscuits!

I spent yesterday at Cowbridge Craft Fair (dying of flu) and while having a stroll through Helen’s stall of Jamie Oliver at home Christmas collection I found the most amazing set of Christmas cookie cutters... oh my god.
I just love them! Perfect for the holidays, cookies on your mug! I just think they’re so cute. The pack contains a collection of angel wing shapes, hearts, stars, birds and baubles! Only available from your Jamie at Home representative.
I will be picking mine up in October to make some epic mugs of hot chocolate!

oh dear!

I keep forgetting how much I actually have to do! Time to get a diary - Onward and upwards!

I love Happy Days when they get things like this in! Luuuussshhh

DIY Bouquet

So the wedding shoot is coming up and a wedding isn't a wedding without a veil and bouquet, and in true E&W style, there's nothing like a bit of D.I.Y
I wanted to match the bouquet in with the wedding dress, not only in color scheme but with the whole vintage look, so I chose to do an entire bouquet made from broken jewelry, vintage buttons, paper flowers and of course with some vintage crochet lace.

I’m still waiting on the headpiece base to fix the rest of my bits on to…Lets hope the weather picks up for Wednesday mind, or she’s going to be a wet bride!
Maybe I should actually start on the dress mind.

Can’t go wrong with a good cuppa tea!

No one does it quite like Audrey…

I've had a while to think about what wedding dress to make for a vintage photo shoot that is coming up.
My initial idea was the stunning 1950’s dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film Funny Face…
I debated about a lot of styles: a 1940’s silk bottom gown with a tail, or even a quirky organza dress with yellow flowers after I found some beautiful material stuffed away in the back room, but in the end, it always comes back to the Audrey dress.

I’m so excited to see what it turns out like!

Tomorrow’s job…

Lets make a start on these collars I’ve been on about for some time!Detachable peter pan collars, lacey, vintage fabrics, ribbons, I’m excited already!

Refurbished stall

The E&W recently refurbished stall at Happy Days, Cowbridge.
Showcasing the new vintage clothing range just introduced.

Delayed

I’ve been putting off starting this blog for some time, but finally here it is!
It's really just for me to keep up to date on everything I’m doing and have to/want to do, but I can show anyone who wants to see it all too.I love doing what I do, I love creating and I love finding little treasures in different cities and countries. I hope everyone else will love it all someday too!
